Everything you need to know about the EG Shop Local Card scheme, your membership, and how it all works.
1.1 The EG Shop Local Card ("the Card") is a community loyalty scheme operated by EG Shop Local Card ("we", "us", "our"), based in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
1.2 The Scheme is designed to encourage residents to support independent businesses in East Grinstead by offering exclusive quarterly discounts and offers to Card holders.
1.3 By purchasing a Card or registering as a participating business, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
2.1 Annual membership costs £25 per person, paid at the time of sign up.
2.2 Upon payment, a digital Card will be added to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet instantly via our digital card provider Perkstar. Physical cards are not currently available but may be introduced in the future.
2.3 Membership runs for 12 months from the date of purchase and does not renew automatically. We will contact you before your membership expires to offer renewal.
2.4 The Card is personal to the named member and is not transferable. It must not be copied, shared or reproduced.
2.5 We reserve the right to refuse or revoke membership at our discretion if we believe the Card is being misused or these terms are being breached.
3.1 The annual listing fee for businesses is £25, paid at the time of registration.
3.2 Participating businesses agree to provide at least one exclusive offer to Card holders per quarter. The nature and value of each offer is at the business's discretion.
3.3 Business listings will appear on the EG Shop Local Card website at egslc.co.uk. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure listing information is accurate but rely on businesses to provide and update their own details.
3.4 Businesses may withdraw from the Scheme at any time by notifying us at hello@egslc.co.uk. No refund of the annual listing fee will be provided upon withdrawal.
3.5 We reserve the right to remove a business from the Scheme if it fails to provide quarterly offers, brings the Scheme into disrepute, or breaches these terms.
4.1 The offers available through the Card are provided entirely at the discretion of each participating business. We do not set, guarantee or endorse the value or availability of any individual offer.
4.2 The list of participating businesses and their offers may change at any time. Businesses may join or leave the Scheme, and offers are updated quarterly. We will endeavour to keep the directory on egslc.co.uk up to date but cannot guarantee it is accurate at all times.
4.3 Offers cannot be exchanged for cash, combined with other promotions (unless stated by the business), or applied retrospectively to previous purchases.
4.4 To redeem an offer, the Card holder must present their digital Card to the participating business at the time of purchase. It is the Card holder's responsibility to confirm the offer is current before making a purchase.
4.5 We accept no liability for any dispute between a Card holder and a participating business regarding an offer. Any such dispute should be raised directly with the business in the first instance.
5.1 Member payments are processed securely by Stripe via our digital card provider Perkstar. Business listing payments are processed securely by Square. We do not store your payment card details on our servers. By completing payment you also agree to the respective payment processor's Terms of Service.
5.2 All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
5.3 Your membership or listing will not be activated until payment has been successfully received and cleared.
5.4 Refunds will only be issued in exceptional circumstances and at our sole discretion. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at hello@egslc.co.uk within 14 days of purchase.
6.1 Your digital Card is delivered via Perkstar directly to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
6.2 If you cannot locate your digital Card, contact us at hello@egslc.co.uk and we will help you reinstall it free of charge.
6.3 Physical cards may be introduced at a later date. If and when they become available, we will notify existing members.
6.4 You are responsible for keeping your digital Card secure. We are not liable for any unauthorised use of your Card.
7.1 The EG Shop Local Card Scheme is provided in good faith as a community initiative. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss, damage or disappointment arising from your participation in the Scheme, including but not limited to the unavailability of any offer, changes to participating businesses, or any dispute with a participating business.
7.2 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8.1 We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms will be published on egslc.co.uk. Continued use of the Scheme following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
8.2 We reserve the right to suspend or close the Scheme at any time. In the event of closure, pro rata refunds of unexpired membership fees will be considered on a case by case basis.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
